Pandemic Writings

I did not begin the year 2020 planning to write a cycle on the pandemic, but even before this global event swallowed our lives whole it became clear that my blog would become a place where I held the pandemic within the crucible of faith to see what I had to say. These are my writings:

Pandemic Pieces

  1. The Shape of Love in a Time of Contagion – March 12, 2020 (the first of what became a series of posts on the pandemic – this one about – not – gathering for worship)
  2. Making Ourselves Present (Across the Distance) – March 15, 2020 (on taking social distancing with deadly earnest)
  3. BREAKING: God Tests Positive – March 16, 2020 (satire in service of theological truth)
  4. A Father’s Words to Far Off Children – March 20, 2020 (writing to my kids – across the country – about the pandemic)
  5. Hospitality … in “the Distance” – March 22, 2020 (whimsy on working from home – but with a deeper purpose)
  6. Praying the Lord’s Prayer in a Pandemic – March 29, 2020
  7. Grief Upon Grief – April 5, 2020 (Palm Sunday reflection on all the death coming our way)
